Digital Transport Document
Transmit digital consignment notes, Carta de Porte and Documento de Control/Acuerdo de Control Documental (DCA) compliant with eIDAS advanced protocol

Transporeon’s eCMR solution replace the paper consignment document, as it was established in 1956, by providing the technology to do so but most importantly to minimize the uncertainty that supply chain stakeholders feel around this subject in the EU. To accomplish this mission we delivered a product under the data model category that combines information from different sources and displays them in real time with the possibility to be shared not only between companies but authorities and 3rd party systems as well. Our eCMR solution is based on the IRU model from 2007 in regards to the framework. The technology is based on QR code scanning with advanced electronic signatures (eIDAS).

CHALLENGES
Challenges we solve
Lack of technical interoperability
Technical constraints on how to connect to each individual but also lack of transparency between the parties that are being involved (shipper, carrier, recipient, authorities, 3PLs etc) add to an already time consuming process of issuing an eCMR, getting all signatures and sharing back the copies with all the necessary parties. Many disparate technology solutions that not all work together make digitizing a process that needs different parties to collaborate together on digital documents even harder.
Slow invoicing process
The invoice can only be issued after receipt of the CMR or, in the case of damage claims only after clarification of the facts with the service provider and goods recipient.
Lack of legal interoperability
On many occasions initiatives are on an international/. European scale, but nationally different regulations and procedures can apply. eCMR is an international initiative promoted by the EU commission but each country needs to nationally ratify the protocol and can have national amendments to the regulation. Lastly, the eCMR process needs to be GDPR compliant
Triple-layer complexity and duplicate data entry
Managing the Carta de Porte, DCA and eCMR as separate, disconnected processes introduces significant operational challenges, including duplicate data entry across multiple systems, inconsistent information between documents, and gaps in documentation that can lead to compliance risks.

FEATURES
What makes us unique

One workflow: domestic and international
A unified workflow handles both domestic and international transport documentation seamlessly. It provides a localized Digital Carta de Porte with a fully translated Spanish-language PDF layout designed for domestic requirements. Administrative control requirements are integrated directly into the workflow, eliminating duplicate data entry. For cross-border shipments, users can switch to international eCMR standards all within the same platform.
Digital signatures (eIDAS)
The user signs the digital document by scanning the QR code shared with them and authenticating themself via email or their mobile phone number.
Sharing via QR code, email or SMS
Share documents instantly and seamlessly with all relevant players involved in the transport process, including authorities during roadside inspections. Printing the digital Carta de Porte/DCA or eCMR is possible at any time.
Audit-proof versioning and archiving
Complete version control and secure, compliant storage for the entire duration of legally mandated retention periods, ensuring full audit-ability and compliance.

Advanced goods checks
Record photos of damages, seal numbers and item-level findings directly in the app. Findings are reflected in the document and visible to all parties.

DIGITAL TRANSPORT DOCUMENT eCMR
A unified workflow for international eCMR and domestic transport documents, such as the Digital Carta de Porte and DCA in Spain.

1. The document is being issued by the designated party (shipper, LSP , 3PL, carrier etc). The moment the final quantities for loading have been confirmed the shipper signs the document electronically and shares it with the driver via QR-code, SMS or email.
2. The driver opens the URL that was shared with him andverifies himself via his mobile phone. He can review his company’s information, the transport information and findings from the shipper. He is able to edit, remove and add information. Comments, findings and pictures can be added at this phase.
3. Once the driver has completed these steps he is able to electronically sign from his device the eCMR document. Instantly he receives to his mobile device via SMS. The link is being used to handover the goods to the recipient, add comments, add another driver or share the PDF eCMR with any 3rd party.
4. When the truck arrives at the goods recipient, the driver shows the QR code to the recipient to complete the process by electronically signing the eCMR document. The recipient can confirm the goods recipient on item level ad report discrepancies in quality and quantity if any. Finally he/she signs on glass to completed the process. She/He can sign on the driver’s or their own device.
5. With the consignee’s signature the final version of the eCMR is available in real time for all parties to view and share. If an e-mail address is available or stored by the goods recipient, he will receive the final eCMR via e-mail.

“If you’ve got a digital platform, start now. Implementing eCMR is a step-by-step approach. You’re not going to be able to go in and say ‘from tomorrow we’re going to be digital’. To take the incremental steps, you should start as soon as possible.”
